چکیده

Modeling of a wind diesel integrated system (WDIS) is done to perform under varied wind and load conditions on MATLAB Simulink platform. This hybrid system is design in such a way that uunder low wind conditions, a diesel generator feeds the required power to the load. A load flow controller is designed for WDIS to control the load flow depending on the load condition. The power controller reduces the fuel consumption and running costs of generating hybrid system. The frequency of the system is also monitored. The models of the generation units, the power system and frequency-power control are developed and simulation studies have been performed under various conditions using Matlab/Simulink. It has been demonstrated that this system can provide reliable and good quality power to the customers in WDIS systems. KeywordsWDIS, Load flow Control, Performance

Security-Constrained Unit Commitment Considering Large-Scale Compressed Air Energy Storage (CAES) Integrated With Wind Power Generation

Environmental concerns and depletion of nonrenewable resources has made great interest towards renewable energy resources. Cleanness and high potential are factors that caused fast growth of wind energy. However, the stochastic nature of wind energy makes the presence of energy storage systems (ESS) in wind integrated power systems, inevitable. Due to capability of being used in large-scale sys...

Optimization of grid independent diesel-based hybrid system for power generation using improved particle swarm optimization algorithm

The power supply of remote sites and applications at minimal cost and with low emissions is an important issue when discussing future energy concepts. This paper presents modeling and optimization of a photovoltaic (PV)/wind/diesel system with batteries storage for electrification to an off-grid remote area located in Rafsanjan, Iran. For this location, different hybrid systems are studied and ...

Comparative Study of the Performance of Static Synchronous Compensator, Series Compensator and Compensator /Battery Integrated to a Fixed Wind Turbine (RESEARCH NOTE)

This paper studies the interest of the integration of battery energy storage with Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) for improving the low voltage ride through capability (LVRT) of a fixed speed wind turbine connected to the grid. For this reason and by applying a grid fault, a comparison is made between integrating the SSSC, the STATCOM and the STATCOM with battery energy storage. The sy...
